Paul Horne served in the United States Air Force in Vietnam and was honorably discharged as a Staff Sergeant. Paul joined the Toledo Fire Department in 1973, where he served at Stations 7, 16, 15, 13, and 21, and with the Fire Prevention Bureau. He retired in 1988 as a Lieutenant. As president of Firefighters Union Local 92, he fought for the minimum manning of 103, which he felt saved the lives of citizens and firefighters.
